GOVERNMENT, MARRIAGE AND THE LOVER
" LETS FIND OUT "
A little about the following:
1. Government:
“ In a word, next to the gospel or the spiritual office no greater jewel, no greater treasure, no costlier gift, no finer foundation, no more precious possession, exist on earth than a government that administers and uphold justice….For not in vain, God called its administrators “gods”. He does not want this to be a lazy, useless, idle estate, in which people seek only honor, power, pleasure, or mere self interest and wantonness.
….This is the reason why God wanted to have government: that life in the world might go on in an orderly manner.
…..A government is controlled either by a few or by many; and yet it God does not controls it, it is not administered well either by a few or by many.
….Government is instituted, not in order to seek its own profit at the expense of the subjects and to exercise its self-will on them but in order to provide for the best interest of its subjects”. (Martin Luther).
2. Marriage:
Starting over to build a successful, loving marriage depends on having the right “marriage attitude.” You must understand that marriage is not a fence to hem you in; it’s a guardrail to protect what’s inside.
….That’s really the way marriage should be. The security that knowing that you have someone to love, to trust, to encourage, to laugh with, grow with, enjoy life with and that he or she is yours – and yours alone—makes marriage so incredible!
Marriage is not designed to place restrictions on you; marriage is for the purpose of completing you, thus enabling each member of the “team” to be more than you could be as individuals.
Marriage is designed to enable you to grow to your maximum because of the support, love, and encouragement of your mate.
… A good marriage affords the excitement of utilizing all our abilities and yet provides the safety of protecting the one we love. (Zig Ziglar).
3. The Lover:
The Woman Speaks Again
2 I am a rose in the Plain of Sharon, a lily in the valleys.
The Man Speaks Again
2 Among the young women, my darling is like a lily among thorns!
The Woman Answers
3 Among the young men, my lover is like an apple tree in the woods!
I enjoy sitting in his shadow; his fruit is sweet to my taste.
4 He brought me to the banquet room, and his banner over me is love.
5 Strengthen me with raisins, and refresh me with apples, because I am weak with love.
6 My lover’s left hand is under my head, and his right arm holds me tight.
The Woman Speaks to the Friends
7 Women of Jerusalem, promise me by the gazelles and the deer not to awaken
or excite my feelings of love until it is ready.
The Woman Speaks Again
8 I hear my lover’s voice. Here he comes jumping across the mountains,
skipping over the hills. 9 My lover is like a gazelle or a young deer.
Look, he stands behind our wall peeking through the windows,
looking through the blinds.
10 My lover spoke and said to me, “Get up, my darling; let’s go away, my beautiful one.
11 Look, the winter is past; the rains are over and gone. 12 Blossoms appear through all the land. The time has come to sing; the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
13 There are young figs on the fig trees, and the blossoms on the vines smell sweet.
Get up, my darling; let’s go away, my beautiful one.”
The Man Speaks
14 My beloved is like a dove hiding in the cracks of the rock,
in the secret places of the cliff. Show me your face, and let me hear your voice.
Your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. 15 Catch the foxes for us— the little foxes that ruin the vineyards while they are in blossom.
The Woman Speaks
16 My lover is mine, and I am his.
He feeds among the lilies
17 until the day dawns
and the shadows disappear.
Turn, my lover.
Be like a gazelle or a young deer
on the mountain valleys.
(Song of Solomon 2:1-17) NCV.
4. Jesus the good Shepherd:
11 He takes care of his people like a shepherd.
He gathers them like lambs in his arms
and carries them close to him.
He gently leads the mothers of the lambs.
(Isaiah 40:11) New Century Version (NCV)
Commentary: Let Jesus takes care of you and carry you close to Him.
God bless you!
